Castor & Pollux is a combination of classical tradition and the emergence of the new. Balancing the luxury of 1950s department stores with her eye for fresh design, owner Kerrilynn Pamer hosts an environment deeply rooted in examining the way we live.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where Kerrilynn Pamer's expansive imagination and access to both oceans and mountains fostered a love of nature and a penchant for animals, she recalls her childhood most notably by the scent and climate. Taking with her the smells of sage and juniper, Kerrilynn moved on to study interior design, which served both to shape her aesthetic as well as her curiosity for examining the interplay of defining space and person.
Merging her past and present, Castor & Pollux opened its doors in Kerrilynn's current home of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn in 2001. The store rooted itself in creating a decorative conversation recognizing that the act of getting dressed directly corresponds to the books on our shelves, the foods we eat, the scents we wear, the way we set a dinner table. Dedicated to building relationships with its customers, Castor & Pollux quickly developed a devoted following for the tightly curated selection of clothing and accessories and logo-wear inspired by her longtime love of horses. Customers returned each season from Brooklyn and beyond in anticipation of fresh perspective, familiar faces and personalized attention.
In March of 2006 Kerrilynn's ideas outgrew their small space and the store moved to a quiet street in Manhattan’s West Village.
